Our 10 year, £200 million Herefordshire Council UK Public Realm contract covers highways maintenance and improvement works, street lighting and street cleaning, as well as responsibility for public rights of way, parks and open spaces.
In December 2023, we were awarded a £54 million two-year extension following a history of good performance, effective asset management and delivering value for money since Balfour Beatty first partnered with the Council in 2013.
Herefordshire’s Operational Control Hub opened its doors in 2021, providing a single source of visibility to monitor all activities in real-time, track progress of works and enable data-driven decision making to drive further efficiencies across the network.
Across our sustainable, customer focused service, we continue to improve the condition of Hereford’s highways by being responsive to local needs and priorities, while also developing sub-contracting and supply chain opportunities leading to a lasting contribution to the regeneration of the local economy.
