Steve, a civil engineer, has served as the Managing Director for Balfour Beatty Living Places since 2017, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping the business’s strategic direction and driving operational excellence.
Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Living Places in 2013 as an Operations Director, Steve held various key roles at Amey plc. Notably, he served as the Head of Amey’s Local Government business from 1999 to 2004 and later as the Managing Director of their Logistics Division from 2004 to 2010.
With over 39 years’ experience, Steve has become a prominent figure in the construction and infrastructure industry known for his commitment to excellence, innovation, and championing diversity and inclusion.

Angus, a chartered accountant, was appointed as Finance Director at Balfour Beatty Living Places in 2022.
Angus originally joined Balfour Beatty in 2016 as Head of Investor Relations. Prior to this, he held various finance roles at BG Group, including Head of Valuations in Egypt and Head of Risk and Forecasting during its acquisition by Shell plc.

Emma originally joined Balfour Beatty in April 2011 as Sustainability Manager for Major Projects and was appointed as Head of Sustainability for Balfour Beatty Living Places in January 2023.
Before this, she worked as Senior Sustainability Manager in Balfour Beatty’s Regional Building and Regional Civils businesses. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty, Emma held the role as Sustainability Manager for Lend Lease.

David started his career at Balfour Beatty in 2011 as their first Health and Safety Graduate. Before joining Balfour Beatty Living Places in June 2021 as Head of Health, Safety and Well-being, David held a variety of roles within Balfour Beatty including Graduate, Advisor, Manager, and Business Partner.
David holds a master’s degree in health and safety and became a Chartered Member of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in 2017.
In 2017, David received the ‘Zero Harm Contributor of the Year’ award and then the ‘SAFE Individual’ Award from Balfour Beatty’s Group Chief Executive, Leo Quinn in 2019.

Jo joined Balfour Beatty in 2002 as a recruitment officer having previously worked for a consultancy for many years. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Living Places in 2015, she worked in several Balfour Beatty business units.
Jo has always had a passion for the built environment studying construction at college and university and has more recently taken on a leadership role for the Street Lighting Portfolio in Balfour Beatty Living Places.

Kathryn joined Balfour Beatty Living Places in 2022 as Head of Procurement. She has successfully led the development, implementation, and delivery of a procurement and supply chain strategy that has supported our business growth.
Previously, Kathryn was Senior Procurement Manager for the BBVS joint venture, which was commissioned to build HS2’s Old Oak Common Station.

Nicola is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Senior Manager who recently completed an MBA in Executive Leadership.
Nicola joined Balfour Beatty Living Places in September 2022, to mobilise the East Sussex Highways Contract. In June 2024, Nicola was promoted to Area Director for the Southern Region overseeing the East Sussex, West Sussex and Southampton Contracts. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty, Nicola was a Contract Director for Amey, on both the Kent Highways and Surrey Waste Contracts.
Nicola started her career as a British Army Officer, completing 11 years’ service in the Royal Logistic Corps including leading on operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and Cyprus. On leaving the military, Nicola spent five years with Royal Mail Group as an Operations Manager.

In her role as Area Director, Jo is responsible for a portfolio of highways contracts delivering services to local authority clients in Lincolnshire, Herefordshire, Buckinghamshire, Telford & Wrekin, Warwickshire, Solihull and Coventry.
Jo is an experienced Service Director in the highways industry with exceptional aptitude for leading large, multi-disciplinary teams. Jo has driven significant performance improvements, generating sustainable business growth in line with Balfour Beatty’s Build to Last strategy.

Tyrone brings an injection of energy and experience from his previous commercial, operational and work winning roles both at Balfour Beatty Living Places and Skanska.
Brian joined Balfour Beatty in March 2021 and is Senior Legal Counsel for both Balfour Beatty Living Places and Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering.
He has 40 years’ experience in commercial and construction law. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty, Brian was Head of Legal at Kier Group Services and Head of Legal and Procurement at Carlisle Support Services.
